Ragnarok

from the Introduction

To quote from Clarissa Pinkola Estés’ magnificent book ‘Women Who Run with the Wolves’;
‘In mythology the three-year period is the time of mounting momentum, as in the three years of winter that precede Ragnarok, the Twilight of the Gods, in Scandinavian mythology. In myths like these, three years of something occurs, then comes a destruction, then from that ruin is born a new world of peace.’

Within my life, to borrow a phrase from another terrific writer, Terry Pratchett;
‘The midden is about to hit the windmill’.

So, while I make good use of the preceding three-year build up on many levels, I miss with quite spectacular blindness a vitally important opportunity for further deep personal healing it offers me. Metaphorically speaking a huge cesspool then finds its way into the path of a substantial wind machine. And I get blown apart, leaving me in ruins. From which I eventually discover no option but to rebuild my everything and bring about a new world of internal peace.
